APPG Event on Net Zero Levelling up – Getting Finance into Cities and Regions

What does successful Net Zero levelling up look like? Getting finance into cities and regions

20 July 2021, 15:00-16.15

Join the APPG on Sustainable Finance for a roundtable discussion examining what the ‘real economy’ outcomes of green finance can be and how to mobilise finance into locally directed investments across our cities and regions which deliver good green jobs and low-carbon infrastructure for communities across the UK.

The event will begin with a keynote address from Marvin Rees about the work Bristol is doing with its City Leap Energy Partnership, followed by a roundtable discussion between local government officials and representatives from financial institutions with opportunities for audience Q&A. This event is organised by UK100 on behalf of the APPG on Sustainable Finance and made possible by APPG supporters Lux Nova Partners.

Contributors will showcase opportunities for directing finance into locally directed low-carbon projects and explore how we can scale up existing initiatives and expand the flow of finance into low-carbon projects, energy and infrastructure which will help to level-up the country and deliver the Net Zero transition.

The roundtable will explore the role of parliamentarians in shaping the policy framework that will help finance to flow for Net Zero levelling up and examine what changes are required to scale-up place-based investment.

This event will be hosted on zoom and is open to the public, please register to join here
